The Details
100 pushups
By the end of 100 days, I would like to have done 100 pushups in a row.
100 miles run
A cumulative goal - to run a total of 100 miles in 100 days. I’m not being too strict with speed/time, etc. I tend to jog/walk more than flat out running, and if I jog/walk 1 mile, that goes in the tally.
100 smiles to 100 strangers
I live in New York, but I’m a Georgia girl at heart. Sometimes my subway face hurts, and I get tired of looking angry. Besides, smiling keeps your face younger. So, once per day, for 100 days, I will make sure to smile at someone I don’t know. None of that polite half smile crap either. Full toothy grins.
100 dollars saved
Maybe for you this isn’t much. But I have never been able to save anything. I have a checking account that tends to empty as soon as it’s full. So I would like to save $1 per day. And if there is more, great. If not, at least I’ll be $100 ahead for 2010.
100 things made
I’m an artist by training, a seamstress by necessity, and a crafter by genetics. I will make 100 objects of some sort. Some will be long projects, such as scarves or hats. Some will be tiny drawings done in 10 minutes. The point is to be creative, and make something, every day if possible.
100 news articles read
I consider myself fairly intelligent, but I tend to gloss over real news. Somehow, with all my education, and halfhearted political leanings, I manage to never ever actualy follow real news. So I will read one article every day, all the way through, about something important. About something I would normallly skip in favor of the movie reviews or art listings.
100 words learned
Pretty self explanatory, I think. Word a day, every day.
100 lbs lifted
I have to fine tune this somewhat, but I think maybe bench press 100 lbs, or dead lift. I’ve been wanting to do more weight lifting, and I think this is a goal I can understand. I’m sure anyone who actually lifts weights will laugh at me, but hey, baby steps.
100 meals made
I’m a fair cook. And I don’t really eat out. But I’m making a concerted effort to make more things from scratch. To bake bread, make ice cream, create new dishes. To that effect, I will aim for 1 meal per day. But if I have a day where I make 3 meals from scratch, I’ll probably count that as 3. And it has to be made, not assembled. No semi homemade here, just raw ingredients and sheer enthusiasm.
100 things I’ve never done
This is the least specific. This could be anything. A place I’ve never been, a book I’ve never read, a person I’ve never talked to. I’m gonna need help on this one people.
What would you do with 100 days?
